For He's A Jolly
Good Fellow
by Avis Hickman-Gibb
He opened his
eyes. Daylight steamed through the window.
Ive
done it, he thought exultantly.
Yesterday had
been quite a day birthday cake, gifts,
party to celebrate. And the family - theyd
all come along to see him. Make sure he was still
alive. Vultures! All of em were just
waiting for him to pop off - get their hands on
all his lovely money. Well they could all just
whistle.
Ive
showed em! One hundred years young
and still going strong! He cackled, whilst
feebly pawing at the covers.
And now
theyd have to wait at least another day.
