Lucy Poem
(even further apologies to Wordsworth)
by Andrew Sacks

She dwelt among the trodden ways,
Nearby the springs of Mead;
A Babe whom there were none to praise,
But lots to sow their seed:

Zirconia by a diamond true,
Aglitter to the eye!
Bright as her Vegas neon crew
Eclipsing all the sky.

She lived well-known, to men and ma’am,
But Lucy ceased to be;
And she is gone—O Hoover Dam!—
The difference to me.
