Five Steps to
Making Morning Toast in case youve
forgotten after a Night of Merriment

1.Pop two pieces
of thick sliced
Italian bread
into the twin open maws
of a silver electric box.
2.Press lever, to lower those
unsuspecting slices,
between electric coils,
to lightly singe their soft
yeasty innards.
3.When coils cool,
eject the bread,
carefully pull out the bread.
4. Apply culinary mercy,
slathering each slice with butter
perhaps adding also honey or jam,
to ease the pain of the heat,
to sweeten the sorrow of
imminent devour-ment,
5.Then,raise a slice to toast
the new day. |
