The universal
greeting was broadcast from Cygnus 394B to Earth
via tight neutrino beam at a frequency close to
television channel 13. The old woman’s
television set was badly mistuned; she alone
received the historic signal that day.
“Damn
that Home Shopping Network!” yelled
Priscilla. She smacked at the on/off switch and,
on arthritic legs, teetered off to the kitchen to
make a snack.
