The Martians
by Patricia Kings
"Look Aidy, what do you think
that is?"
A silver disc was circling overhead
making a humming noise like an oversized bee.
Yellow lights were flashing causing James to
blink.
The cows ran in panic towards the
gates as the object landed, making a whirring
sound. The doors slid open, and two green figures
emerged. Their eyes were red and shiny. Their
feet were webbed - just as well as one stepped
into a cow pat and uttered a Martian expletive in
a metallic voice. The smell of rotting vegetation
permeated in the air.
Addie and James hid behind the hedge,
too frightened to breathe, but the cows were now
curious and surrounded the pair. The Martians
waved their arms about then scrambled back on
board.
