Saturdays
by Matthew Dexter
Whats
in your pocket, Andrew?
A frog.
What you
gonna doing with it?
Not sure
yet.
Andrew looked
down at the grass and took off over the fence
into his parents backyard. The door was
open leading into the kitchen and Andrew could
see that his father had just set up the barbecue
grill. All the coals were piled up in a giant
pyramid on the center of the grill.
The window was
open and he could hear his parents clearly.
What ya
cookin hun? his mother asked.
Not sure
yet, his father said.
Andrew smiled.
He loved Saturdays.
