Haiku Seasons
by David He
A school without
walls
Murmuring voices reading
Early rising sun
From between high rocks
Dark knotted Pine roots reach down
Trying to fetch water
Night bird sings midnight
I sit at open window
Watching bright full moon
Upon dark river
Dry Chestnut leaf drifts down
Drinking its water
Early warm spring walk
Grass grows in winter footprints
Melting ice and snow
Pussy-willow buds
Silent fireworks explode
In gusting spring wind |
