We stayed at The Grange for our first wedding
anniversary in October having heard great things
about its owners, Sally and Michael. The food and
service were excellent, although the mattress in
our room was a little hard for our liking and the
kettle a little primitive. Unfortunately, my wife
was electrocuted by the light switch in our room
and subsequently passed away on the way to
hospital. I shall be supporting the full police
investigation. Geoffrey, Nuneaton.
01/11/2022 The Grange Management: Many
thanks for your lovely review and a member of
Sally & Michaels team will be in touch
shortly.
15/02/2023 The Grange Management: Dear
Geoff, we are so pleased you felt empowered to
inform us that our service and food provision met
with your requirements. News of another glowing
experience at The Grange is always welcome. Sadly,
mattress pressures and kettle choice will be the
death of us here but thank you for enlightening
us with your subjective comments and in so doing
shedding further light on the highly charged
debate.
Please be aware that as a 300-year-old property,
many of our features are very dated. In fact, our
guests are attracted to the Grange for its rich
historical legacies, charms and idiosyncrasies.
This has supported our decision not to modernise
the property in any way, including the electrics,
since our family took over the business in 1952.
We are sorry to hear the shocking news that you
were inconvenienced and, despite your wifes
inability to properly checkout with us that
morning (no additional charge needed), and as a
gesture of our goodwill, we would like to offer 5%
off a single room with us for your next stay.
Alternatively, we would be willing to switch this
to a discussion on the benefits of an optional
complimentary breakfast for the remaining party
should you come with a fresh guest and these
circumstances be repeated.
At The Grange, Sally & Michael and the
current team are well-known for taking the death
and disfigurement of our guests seriously.
Furthermore, we never fail to regularly
acknowledge reviews of such incidents on
TripAdvisor to ensure future Grange customers can
see how much we care, fused with an energy of
looking to learn from our mistakes.
As a further, transparent, demonstration of our
hard-wired culture of empathy and understanding,
our sales manager, Becky, will be in touch to
talk through the benefits of hosting your wifes
wake at the Grange and we look forward to seeing
you again then (subject to availability and your
deposit clearing).
Best wishes and have a nice day from all of the
team at the Grange.
