The Little
Creepy Man In The Park
by William Kitcher
Howard was
sitting on the park bench near the duck pond
reading his newspaper when a young woman with
long brown hair walked past.
He glanced up at her over the top of his
newspaper. She noticed this and turned to Howard
furiously. Whats the matter with you,
creep? Figure you can just look at me like Im
some kind of sex object? Like Im some eye
candy for you? That Im just a woman and so
you can objectify me like that? People like you
make me sick, you creep!
She stormed off.
Howard was noticeably shaken but calmed down
after a few moments and returned to his newspaper.
A young woman with short black hair walked past.
Howard didnt look at her and she turned to
Howard furiously. Whats the matter
with you, creep? Im not good enough for you
to look at? I dont fit into your idea of a
perfect woman? Well, sorry, man, some of us arent
perfect. People like you make me sick, you creep!
She stormed off.
From that day forward, Howard read his newspaper
in his room.
