I Am Me So
Yippee
by Alex Andy Phuong
I am not Ryan Gosling. I
am not Emma Stone. I am Alex Andy
Phuong. I am a passionate autistic
savant who is a bibliophile, a cinephile, and a
literary scholar. People on the
spectrum like to be very routine and very exact
with time itself. I have a very
structured life, but I am an adult because I live
the way that I do without hurting myself and
others. My willingness to love knows
no bounds.
Before I leave for work, I
wake up around 4am or 5am every morning. I
developed the habit of being awake before sunrise
because I took 7am classes at Pasadena City
College for two straight years. I
would enjoy green tea and maybe a cup of Joe to
energize my mind, body, and soul. I
would help out around the house, and I spend time
with family daily because I love them and they
love me. And the sad truth is
I
do not have time for television.
While I am at work, I use
my time and knowledge to help empower students. I
have always admired my teachers and professors
throughout my academic career, and I am
incredibly grateful for being an educator. I
hope to bestow knowledge upon anyone willing to
learn, and I also learn more about reality by
teaching.
After work is done for the
day, I enjoy nice dinners in Alhambra, CA. I
am lucky that I am able to work hard all day
every day with occasional pay. I do
not get paid to volunteer, I do not get paid to
write, and I (sometimes) do not get paid to think,
but I am glad that I use my head daily to deal
with reality while contributing to the world
altruistically.
