An Umbrella from
Cherbourg
by Alex Andy Phuong
Once upon a time, an author
wrote about one of the most famous Disney
characters ever conceived (even though the author
hated Walt Disney).
Mary went to an umbrella
shop in Cherbourg, a city as unrealistic as the
dream-like production of Hollywood musicals that
inspired Damien Chazelle to write and direct La
La Land (2016).
Mary somehow bought a
magical umbrella (complete with a talking parrot
handle) that magically transformed her into Mary
Poppins.
Bert told Mary to come back,
and she did (almost two decades later).
Apparently Mary only helps
the Banks family when Mr. Banks needs saving and/or
during economic recessions and depressions.
Is there really something
about Mary...?
